BLACK x BLACK

Pink Blush Knit Top c/o | AG denim | Ivanka Trump boots similar here | Rebecca Minkoff Crossbody similar here | Beanie

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!! My little family and I drove to Bakersfield Wednesday afternoon to stay with my parents for Christmas Eve and Christmas. We had a ton of fun, played lots of games, and ate a whole lot of food ;). I was also able to catch up with my bestie Saturday morning, which is always a blast!!
Anyway... like I mentioned in my most recent blog post, dressing this bump keeps getting harder and harder. I'm almost positive my belly was this size when I gave birth to Addy and I still have 9 weeks to go! It's starting to get a tad bit uncomfortable but what can ya do??? I was browsing Pink Blush Maternity website and came across this black sweater and I knew I had to have it. It's stretchy and fits over my big ol' belly perfectly. Did I mention that its on major sale?? Seriously mama's, you need this sweater and it also comes in burgundy. YESS!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great rest of the week!

29 week baby bump

Dress: Ingrid & Isabel  / Vest: Anthropologie  (color is "Ivory") / Shoes: Old Navy  / Bag: Marc Jacobs (sold out) love this one

I cannot believe how fast my pregnancy has gone by. As of last week, I am officially in the third trimester and dressing this bump keeps getting more difficult! This dress has been on serious repeat (no joke!) I recently wore it to my husband's work Christmas party and received so many compliments on it! It really is the PERFECT maternity dress. When I first found out I was pregnant, I immediately looked up "maternity clothing" at Nordstrom and came across this Ingrid & Isabel dress. I read all the reviews and ordered it immediately! It can be dressed up or down and thats what I love about it. Plus, I know I'll get a lot of wear out of it with future pregnancies. ;)
Okay, enough about this fabulous dress and moving on to pregnancy symptoms...  I've recently been feeling SO much movement from baby girl, it is insane! She moves soooo much and Addy is always leaning up against my tummy and baby girl seriously goes crazy in my belly. It is amazing to me! I can't wait to see those two grow up together.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Off the shoulder...

Hat / Top (30% off with code "XTRAXTRA" / Denim  / Boots  (on sale!!) Tory Burch Tote

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. My little family and I have been out and about all weekend trying to keep busy! Tyler took a four day weekend because we planned to drive to San Fran with my parents to attend my cousins wedding. But little miss Addy got really sick Tuesday and was non stop throwing up... She didn't start feeling better until Friday evening. I was a tad bit bummed but Addy's health comes first!

Okay, lets talk about this outfit... is anyone else obsessed with everything white like I am? I'm easily drawn to white clothes when I walk into a clothing store or browse the internet. My real obsession is white with lace. YES!!  I saw this top in my local Anthro store and immediately had to have it! I wore it out to breakfast with some of my besties while visiting Bako during the summer. It's so comfy and its on major sale right now... snatch it before its gone!!

If you're an expecting mommy to be, then you need this tote! Tyler bought this bag for me last Mother's day and it has been a serious lifesaver when Addy and I are on the go. I can throw her diapers, wipes, snacks and so much more into this bag.

I hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Pregnancy Update: 18 weeks

I am so excited to finally squeeze another blog post in! I am officially in the 2nd trimester and it is treating me WAY better than the first trimester. Thank you God!! If you read my most recent blog post, I had mentioned how I ruined the very first vacation Tyler and I took together because I was pregnant and had no idea... well lets just say I ruined another vacation :/ Tyler and I officially have a plan that we will no longer go on vacation until I take a pregnancy test haha! I feel bad for my poor husband because he's the type that is always on the go and would rather swim with sharks in the ocean than cuddle on the couch and watch movies. I'm huge on watching movies and tv shows and Tyler just goes along with it. Bless his sweet heart! That's pretty much what we did on our most recent vacation besides go to the beach a lot!!

Okay well moving on to my pregnancy update... I must admit that this pregnancy is way different compared to when I was pregnant with Addy. When I was pregnant with Addy in the first trimester it was absolutely awful the first week and then as the weeks went on I started to feel better. The first trimester of this pregnancy had me feeling like I was going to die the entire time. It was so bad... I would just curl up in a ball and cry at every little thing! The second trimester is treating me better than the first and my cravings are out of control! If you know me, you know that I'm not a huge meat eater at all! I hardly ate any meat when I was pregnant with Addy and tried to get my protein from other food groups. Well... this pregnancy I have turned into a carnivore.... it is so odd to me and my family. Tyler loves it because he's a huge meat eater and when I was pregnant with Addy I just wanted to throw up every time he ate meat around me. No bueno!
Tyler & I are so excited because we find out the gender next week. We could find out now at one of those 3d ultrasound places but we decided to just be patient and save our money and find out at my next OBGYN appt.
I'm going to have to cut this blog post short because Addy is currently on my lap trying to finish it for me! ha! sneaky little fingers....

Have a great day!

Hi all!! I hope you are all having a fabulous week! I decided to get back in the groove of posting because I seriously miss it like crazy! It helps keep my mommy brain sane ;) Adalynn has been keeping me so busy lately and I don't mind  one bit, but I definitely don't want to get sidetracked from the things I enjoy (like this blog). I have so many ideas up my sleeve and I can't wait to share with you all. But for now, I will start with this special blog post.
Tyler has the entire week off this week and I have been loving every second of it! The last vacation we had was in Hawaii before Addy was born and I'm pretty sure I ruined the entire trip (oops!) I was pregnant with Addy at the time and had no idea. AND I'm sure all you mamas know how horrible the first trimester is! The entire trip I just wanted to sleep and eat mac & cheese (healthy right!?) haha it was pretty gross... so here we are again a few years later, on vacation with our sweet baby girl. We decided to just stay in San Diego and go some place different every day and today we went to the Oceanside Pier. It was such a beautiful day that I had to document it! Okay moving on to what I wore... I saw this  Anthropologie shirt online and immediately had to have it! It's the perfect shirt for summer because its so lightweight and it will transition into the fall perfectly! Plus, these shorts are the comfiest pair of shorts I have ever owned in my life. They are a little pricey but totally worth it!  Well I'm off to enjoy movie time with my little family so I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Addy turns ONE!!

March 6, 2014 was the happiest and scariest day of my life. I remember this day like it was yesterday. On march 5th, Tyler and I were on our way to Memorial Hospital so I could be induced. I was in labor for 24 hours and 30 minutes. My contractions were by far the most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life, but I gave birth to Addy pretty smoothly (meaning, I thought it was going to be way worse). Adalynn was born at 10:08 am and I have never been more excited to see that sweet face of hers. She was absolutely perfect! Out of nowhere, NICU nurses were in the delivery room with us, examining Addy. She was rushed to the NICU (at the time I had no idea why). Unfortunately, I was still out of it so Tyler went to the NICU with Addy. He came back to the delivery room to check on me, and had told me we would have to wait later that evening to hear from the Doctors. I kept repeating in my head "Addy is going to be okay." I was so anxious to hear from the Doctors! later that evening, we finally heard from the Dr. and he had noticed she had loud breathing (known as Stridor). They did a ton of tests on her and noticed she had PDA as well.. I honestly felt like we were never going to hear the end of it. The Dr. mentioned that her facial features were not "normal" and they wanted to test her for Trisomy 13, 18 & 21. I had never heard of these except for Trisomy 21 (down syndrome).  I was so confused & thought how could this be possible? I was tested for this & my results came back normal. Trisomy 18 is a lethal type of down syndrome and the Dr. was thinking because of Addy's facial features, she for sure had it. We asked him if Addy was going to be okay & he said "I don't know." with this blank stare that I will never forget. It was then, that Tyler & I lost it. Our sweet daughter that we waited 9 months to meet, might not make it. I felt sick to my stomach. I was upset, hurt, confused, angry and questioning everything. I cried every single day. I couldn't eat, sleep, I was a MESS. Tyler & I felt so hopeless. That night we fell to our knees and prayed like we never prayed before. We begged God not to take our sweet baby girl from us. We begged for him to take everything from us, just don't take our baby girl. Later that night my entire family met us at the hospital and we all gathered in a circle and prayed. The Dr. sent labs out and we waited a week until we found out the results. It was the longest week of my life! I had planned to breast feed Addy, so I pumped every 3 hours for her. She wasn't eating by mouth so I wanted it to be ready for her when she did decide to eat. Somewhere in my mind I figured my breast milk would cure Addy, and I felt like I needed to do everything in my power to save her. I felt hopeless, but pumping food helped me keep somewhat sane.

I will never forget all the phone calls, texts and emails I received from family friends saying they were praying for Addy. I loved this! The power of prayer is amazing & I know God could hear us! A week went by and we received a call from the hospital saying the lab results were in. We rushed to the hospital, praying on the car ride there and mixed with a TON of different emotions but we finally made it. We arrived at the hospital and waited for the Doctor to approach us. A couple minutes went by, and he walked up to us and said the results came back normal. NORMAL! That's all I wanted to hear. The Dr. kept talking to us, but I had no idea what he was saying because all I kept saying in my head was, "Thank you God, Thank you God, You are so good!"

Addy was in the NICU for 2 weeks and was transferred to CHLA for further testing. What I thought was the end of a horrible journey, was just the beginning. Addy was transferred to CHLA by helicopter and stayed for 2 months & 5 days. Our stay there was the hardest thing we have ever gone through. We were by Addy's side the entire time she was there and prayed every single night with her.   I won't go into too much detail about our stay (maybe for a different post) but Addy was tested for more syndromes & those all came back normal. She was later diagnosed with Laryngomalacia and Micrognathia.

We go to multiple appointments a year but we wouldn't change a thing about it. My daughter is alive and she is the best thing that ever happened to me. What Addy went through, I will NEVER forget.

Adalynn Joy Iwamura is by far the strongest baby I know. She has gone through more than most adults go through in their life. She has overcome so much in a year and I am so proud of my sweet Addy. She is my miracle.

Happy 1st Birthday Adalynn Joy Iwamura! <3

God is so good!!

But I am so thankful for my family and in laws for helping us out during this crazy time. As of right now, I miss my family so much! I am so thankful for technology because I was able to face time my sister and her little ones + my parents on Sunday. We have decided to start doing that every Sunday! Yay!

On another note, I  am so obsessed with mint! This mint top from Juliana's boutique is so soft & comfy and perfect for spring! Plus, its only $34 and you can save 10% by using code "nicole10" (all lowercase).

Vest: Target Similar Here | Long Sleeve: old, Similar Here | Jeans: Nordstrom, Similar Here | Crossbody: Nordstrom, Similar Here | OTK Boots: Here, Here & Here |

Starting the week off with this fur vest that I scored at Target for $10! I highly recommend that if you love fur vests like I do, buy them now while they're on sale. By the time it hits fall most of the cute fur vests are sold out.  I paired this fur vest with a basic black long sleeve, jeans & these cute Ivanka Trump OTK boots. I had been on the hunt to find these but most stores had sold out, so I of course checked on ebay and purchased these for $70!! They are perfect to wear for a girls night out or a date night with your significant other. I think these OTK boots will transition perfectly in to the spring with a cute skirt!

Thanks for stopping by! :)
