life with my girls..

^Tyler snapped a quick shot of Ella trying to photobomb our pictures haha! (and yes, we have a huge crack in our step because I decided to drag a heavy package I received from World Market down our steps. Oops!)

Dress: PinkBlush c/o Vest: Madewell Shoes: Free People (my favorite shoes ever!!)

Addy has been in school for about a month now and I'll admit, it was extremely hard to get into the routine at first. I have never left her with anyone besides relatives before. During the first week of school, I signed her up to take the bus and the following week was her first time taking the bus. She has been riding the bus ever since. She cried the first day taking the bus... which made me cry. I wanted to yank her from the bus and just hold her. The second day was a lot easier. No crying and she actually looked happy to take the bus. There are a couple other students in her class that take the bus so I think that helped a lot. While Addy is at school, Ella and I take off to find some fun local classes. We go to the library a couple days a week for jamboree and story time and we are supposed to start gymnastics soon. Ella is always trying to do forward rolls and it is hilarious!

Well, fall is officially here and a new season means new clothing. ;) I always get so excited to see what clothing is "in" and the new styles all my favorite boutiques launch. It's one of my favorite things about the new season. Speaking of new, this dress from Pink Blush is what dreams are made of. It is flowy and perfect to chase after my girls in. I'm excited to pair it with a long cardigan when it gets a bit cooler.
Thanks for stopping by!

xo, nicole

Ruffle Kimono

Kimono: PinkBlush c/o | shirt: Everlane | Jeans: Free People

The girls and I spent the entire week sick. I told Tyler, once we feel better we need to get out of the house. On Friday we had a little date night where we went out for pizza and a movie. On Saturday we went out for breakfast and then headed to Coronado to visit my mother-in-law and browse my favorite neighborhood. But seriously, Coronado homes are pretty much what I look for in my dream home. It's the cutest island and any chance we get to go, we take it.

On another note, I was going through the Pink Blush website and came across this Ruffle Kimono and had to have it! It's so lightweight and perfect for this San Diego weather. I think it would be perfect as a layering piece too. I already have planned to wear it over dresses and skirts!

Maui 2017

Addy had fallen asleep at this point, which I was bummed about because we were only half way done.
still squeezing this one into the solly baby wrap! ;)
^Tyler & Addy
Ella wanted me to hold her the entire time we were in Maui! Not complaining about those extra cuddles! ;)
I was so sad I accidentally left my Canon at home. I feel like these would have made some stellar shots. Bummer!
Tyler snapped these as I was swimming back and we didn't even notice those people up there until we looked at the pictures. haha!
^ we had someone tell us this was a horrible way to do Hawaii. hahah which we didn't care because we were in HAWAII! :)
entertaining Addy! ^
headed home we go!

I know, I know... I'm way late at writing this blog post. I figure, better late than never right?? I love writing these blog posts because they are so fun to look back at years down the road. I'd like to think Addy and Ella will enjoy them too. :) This was our first family vacation as a family of four and it was so fun! Our first day in Maui we took the girls to Maui Ocean Center. The girls' eyes lit up as they saw all the pretty fish and sharks. Yikes! This is such fun age for these two to explore and the reaction on their faces was priceless. Once we left the ocean center, we explored Kihei which had cute fruit stands up and down the road. Later that evening, we went to a Luau. That was one of the highlights of our trip. We sat next to some pretty amazing people...we got lucky on that part. Tyler even got his face painted. Hilarious! The girls weren't used to staying out that late and so they fell asleep on the way walking back to our hotel room in our arms. It was the cutest! Plus, they both slept so well that night. Win Win! for mommy and daddy. Ha!
The next morning, we woke up early and drove to Paia to do the Twin Falls Hike, which I highly recommend. I felt like I was walking through a Jurassic Park movie. Also, it's a bit slippery and I may or may not have lost my flip flop more than once and had a nice lady hold my arm as she guided me across the slippery rocks but it was totally worth it. Tyler was laughing at me the whole time. I think he had mentioned he filmed the whole thing. Ha so rude! But once we got to the waterfall, Tyler and I took turns swimming back and forth while the other watched the girls. This was by far, the highlight of my trip. Once we were finished swimming, we headed back and attempted to drive the Road to Hana while the girls napped. We drove less than halfway before we were over it. Everyone I talked to had strongly recommended it but we just didn't want to be in the car much longer so we headed to the cute town of Paia and grabbed lunch at Flatbread Company for pizza. So good! Tyler and I shared a pizza and salad and we wiped our plates clean. After that, we headed to Paia Bowls to get an acai bowl. Yum!!
On Saturday, we woke up and went to Maui Tropical Plantation and walked around. Later that morning, we beached it all day and then headed to Frida's Beach House for yummy Mexcian food. It was the cutest pink restaurant right on the beach and it did not disappoint.
Sunday was our last day in Maui so we headed to the beach to go snorkeling. Tyler saw a turtle which I thought was so cool! That night, we headed to downtown Lahaina to have dessert and dinner... in that order. ;) After, we walked around and shopped for souvenirs to bring home with us. It was the perfect ending to our trip.
